How to Set and Achieve Meaningful Goals

April 27, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

What’s your biggest struggle when it comes to goal setting?

Is it finding the “right” goals to set? Knowing how to set realistic goals? Or maybe even setting goals that you will actually feel motivated to work towards? Possibly all of these and much more?

Whatever your struggle is I want you to know that you are not alone.

One of my greatest passions in life is setting goals that I can slowly work towards achieving over the course of a specific amount of time. Sounds so nerdy I know but honestly, I don’t care! I contribute a huge amount of my success in life to my ability to set goals constantly.

It’s so important to set goals for two reasons. One, they show where your current mind state is. Your goals are a mental and physical reflection of where you envision yourself 3, 5, and sometimes even 10 years from now. When you can dream that big it shows that you have big plans for yourself in the future.

The second reason is because it’s a continuous sign of personal development.

Think about it this way, when you set goals, they are going to be related to yourself in some way. Whether that’s through your health, your career, your family relationships, or your life in the future, every goal you set has a direct connection to you.

When you work on those goals, you’re bettering some part of you in some way that is all going to help you become the best version of yourself. I personally do not believe that we can become the best version of ourselves without the commitment to fully engage in personal development.

As you can see setting goals plays an important role in our lives. They can help us paint a picture of how we envision our future life, as well as reveal to us the most important and meaningful aspects of our life in the present moment.

Goal setting isn’t easy but it isn’t hard either. If you struggle with setting goals that you can then set out to achieve today is your lucky day. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve that will help you out tremendously!

Let’s get into it! [Read more…]

April 13, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

It’s so important to start every morning with a positive attitude and a good energy vibe. This helps to set a positive tone for the day as well as motivates us to make the most of the next 24 hours.

Often times most of us wake up, crawl out of bed, and just start our day. The start of our day may include very simple things such as doing necessary hygiene, doing a quick workout, eating breakfast, etc.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. However, lately I have been doing one-minute activities as soon as I wake up to kickstart my day and so far, it has been life changing.

This is literally a simple activity that I will engage in for no longer than a minute just to get my blood circulating, to help wake up my body, as well as my brain. Once I have done this, then I proceed to start my day by engaging in my daily morning routine.

Doing a simple one-minute activity before starting your morning routine can help improve your life immensely. You may find that you experience more motivation, you’re more productive during the day, and you may find yourself eliminating bad habits.

I have also found that these one-minute morning activities have naturally helped me stay on track with my health and wellness goals, by motivating me to keep the momentum going.

There are literally tons of things that you can do in the morning to help yourself get in a positive and motivating mindset. Here are some things you can do in the morning to start off your day. [Read more…]

6 Ways to Care for Your Mental Health at Home

April 6, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Caring for your mental health is so important and honestly, we as a society don’t talk enough about why. There’s this stigma that exists about mental health, that it represents something negative about a person. You’re an outcast. There’s something wrong with you that specifically sets you apart from other people. Which isn’t the case at all.

Society has put a negative label on the term mental health. This has taught us all to shy away from openly talking about it. However, if we’re going to be 100% honest about mental health, we all experience it.

Mental health is the way you care for yourself mentally, and the way that care is carried over into your physical and emotional well-being. Which means that we all are experiencing the positive and negative effects of mental health on a daily basis.

It’s so important to recognize that your mental health is an essential part of your overall well-being. Your mental health influences so many areas of your health, wellness, and life. This includes areas such as your appetite, your energy levels, your sleeping habits, your level of concentration, your mood, and even the way you process information.

In order to make sure that we are performing at our best we must take the time to care for our mental health. Caring for your mental health can help you live a healthy, happy, and fulfilled life to the best of your ability.

There’s no better time to develop the habit of caring for your mental health than the time you spend at home. After all, it’s where we start and end the day. Here are 7 ways you can care for your mental health at home. [Read more…]

How to Stay Motivated to Live A Healthy Lifestyle

March 30, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Let’s face it, it can be hard to stick to our goals when we feel like we’re in it alone. Especially when we’re trying to live a healthy lifestyle but everyone around us doesn’t necessarily want the same thing.

I’ve been down this road many times. It can be frustrating but that’s never a good reason to throw in the towel. Instead, it should be even more reason for you to really push yourself to achieve those goals and live a healthy life.

First things first, I’m no health nut what-so-ever. I don’t obsess over eating clean all the time, adopting a very strict diet in order to reach specific goals, spending tons of hours in the gym to stay in shape, or anything like that.

I simply want to be healthy and live a healthy life to the best of my ability.

This is what fueled my passion for health and wellness years ago. While my goal is to inspire others to make their own health and wellness a priority in their life, I also understand that not every single person will make a connection to it.

But what if they don’t? What if they don’t see the value or meaning in living a healthy lifestyle just as you do? What do we do then?

Simply let it be. And here’s why.

Just like you’re choosing this new lifestyle for yourself, they have to choose it for themselves too. If there is anything this journey has taught me it’s that you can’t force people to adopt a new lifestyle for your own benefit.

There are so many reasons why it’s necessary to care for ourselves daily. Not only does doing so help us have tons of energy, great skin, better sleeping habits, a better working immune system, and a healthy gut, but it also teaches us the discipline of staying focused and committed to our goals.

It is because of this I’ve had to train my brain, and redefine my values to be more realistic to my overall goals personally, and not something that I’m constantly trying to influence others with. Which has actually helped me stay motivated to continue to live a healthy lifestyle to the best of my ability.

So today I’m going to share with you how you can to stay motivated to live a healthy lifestyle when others don’t want to get on board with you. [Read more…]

7 Self-Care Activities to Do at Home

March 23, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

There’s nothing I love more than being in the comfort of my own home. I’m such a homebody, always have been and probably always will be. For me I feel the most comfortable and happiest within the four walls of my own home. However, most people may not feel this way.

There has been a lot going on in the world lately. The latest has been the spread of a virus that has made it so that everyone is required, and highly encouraged, to remain in their homes.

When the news of this got out, I wasn’t worried or bothered in the tiniest bit. I love being home and all activities that I do are usually done at home. But then came the news of limiting time spent out in public places and immediately I started to see a dramatic shift in everyone’s behavior.

Food was becoming scare in stores, restaurants were closing their lobbies to the public, schools were closing, and even the regular hours of most public places were being changed.

That’s when it finally hit me. We were all being asked to remain indoors until further notice.

Then I started to see all the posts on social media about how bored people were, how they didn’t know what to do with themselves, and even how they were upset that the gym was closed and they couldn’t even get their normal workout in for the day.

I knew that being indoors until further notice wasn’t going to stop me from living my healthiest life, and I don’t want you to let it stop you either.

If you are bored, have nothing to do in your home, or may find it hard to just simply entertain yourself and your family, no worries.

Staying at home doesn’t have to be boring, trust me I know I do it all the time. There are literally tons of things that you can do during this quarantine time period to entertain yourself and stay on top of all your health and wellness goals.

This includes things such as taking that time that you never seemed to have to engage in some much-needed self-care.

I’ve got 7 self-care activities that can help you do just that! [Read more…]
