5 Super Easy Ways to Lose Weight

February 17, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Here’s the deal, weight is a consistent part of the conversation when it comes to our health. We all think about it all the time, and the reality is that we should. To some extent.

Our weight can reveal big indicators of our health. It can tell us whether or not we are at risk for various health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or sleep apnea. For women our weight can even have an impact on your fertility.

That’s a handful of things to consider when it comes to your health and weight.

Usually I’m not the type of person who will tell someone to be conscious of what their weight may be. That’s because I feel society puts way too much pressure on a woman’s weight, and that’s a big factor that leads to a lot of insecurities that we learn to have about our bodies.

And I’m not in favor of that at all.

However, as I get older, I’ve come to better understand that knowing what your weight is, and wanting to be at a weight that you are comfortable with, doesn’t have to have a negative connotation to it. In fact, you can have a very healthy relationship with your body no matter what your weight or body size may be.

Which made me realize that depending on what your health, wellness, and fitness goals may be, knowing your weight may be necessary in order for you to achieve those goals.

Now before we go any further, I want to make something very clear. While you should do your best to maintain a healthy weight, your weight does not equal your beauty or power. This post is not going to favor one weight or body size over the other.

Everything in this post is going to provide you with ways that you can take care of your body, and possibly lose weight, if that is a health goal of yours. [Read more…]

I’m so excited that it’s February!

I’ll be honest, starting this new year making my health and wellness a priority was very intimidating in the beginning. However, now that January has come and gone, and I’ve completed my January 2020 Challenge, I can honestly say I’ve never been more excited to see where my health journey will take me next!

It’s no secret that I love working out.

For me it’s never been about my appearance, but always about the way it makes me feel. When I exercise, I always feel energized, much happier, way less fatigued, and stronger than I was the day before. I also find inspiration and motivation to tackle anything life throws my way!

That’s why the next chapter of my health and wellness journey I’m choosing to really focus on increasing all these positive benefits that come from exercising. Mainly because I want to have an endless amount of energy (is that possible?).

In other words, I want to only feel tired because I know I worked my ass off for the day, and therefore only rest when I absolutely need it. I want this and so much more for my overall health, and I’m making this month the official start of it all!

So how I am going to do this? By committing to the PIIT28 and 28 Day Rest Program. [Read more…]

How to Stick to Your Fitness Goals

January 27, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

About 3 years ago I made the decision to start working out. This wasn’t about my image or even not liking the way my body looked, it was more so about just wanting to be healthier.

I wanted to live a healthy lifestyle. This to me meant I wanted to eat healthier foods for my body, I wanted to exercise every day, and just be more active on a day to day basis. I always admired this kind of lifestyle for so many reasons.

The main reason being the fact that I believed living a healthy lifestyle showed that you cared about your overall health. I didn’t want to reach my old age and be dealing with the health problems that I see a lot of my family members dealing with. So, I wanted to start taking better care of my health now rather than later.

When I started my healthy lifestyle journey there was so much that I didn’t know, and there’s still a lot that I don’t know. But the one thing I have come to understand so well is the importance of setting goals related to your health, wellness, and any fitness.

Years ago, you wouldn’t have been able to convince me that setting fitness goals was necessary for your health and wellness journey. Now, I know that it is. Having fitness goals is the number one way to keep yourself accountable for everything that you are and are not doing to help you reach those goals.

If you just mindlessly embark on your journey you’ll never know when you’ve reached a life changing milestone (no matter how big or small it is). With goals you are able to track your progress and see just how far you have come. The best part is that it’s also a great way for you to actually see what specifically you are doing that is furthering you along your journey.

Goal setting was something that I started to do about a year ago and I found it harder to commit to then I thought it would be. This was because I didn’t really understand what it meant to have a fitness goal, how to set it, and more importantly how to stick to it. However, with so many trials and errors that I’ve experienced in the past year, I’ve learned a thing or two about how to keep your fitness goals.

And I’m going to share them with you! [Read more…]

How to Reduce Stress in Your Everyday Life

January 13, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Let’s face it, we all greet the day with the intention of making it a great one, but the reality is that sometimes things don’t go as we may have planned.

We may get ambushed with a bunch of responsibilities that we were not anticipating, we may find that we aren’t able to engage in activities that we may have been looking forward to, or my personal favorite, that nothing listed on the agenda gets completed for the day.

To be honest when things do not go as planned, I freak out majorly! And by freak out majorly I mean I immediately start having a panic attack and my anxiety and stress levels shoot through the roof.

As you can imagine at this point, I’m a nervous wreck. The younger me would have sworn it was the end of the world, and all my days were quickly coming to an end. The older me knows much better and has learned how to simply roll with the punches.

Since turning into a mad woman when things become out of my control has not resulted in the best results for my health and happiness, I’ve learned how to effectively lower my stress levels when things don’t go as planned. This is such an important skill to have because there really are so many negative health effects that result from stressing.

I’m talking negative health effects such as headaches that seem to never go away, high blood pressure, heart problems, unfavorable skin reactions from the output of negative energy (such as a rash or breaking out in pimples everywhere), stress can further worsen your anxiety, and can even lead to depression.

These are all things that we want to avoid for our health.

When you apply skills and methods that can effectively help you lower your stress levels, you are lowering your chances of experiencing any, plus more, of these negative health effects. And since health is wealth, and I care about your health and want to help you improve it in any way that you possibly can, I’m going to share with you my top ways to reduce stress in your everyday life. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to make your health a priority. Think about your current health status now, think about past habits that have you gotten here, and think about the type of health status you’d like to have in the future. What does all these habits, desires, and disciplines tell you about your health?

If you want to be more active, more energized, see an increase in your confidence, and live an overall healthier lifestyle, then you need to make your health a priority in your life. All of these things are 1000% possible for you to achieve. All you have to do is be willing to make the commitment to better your health, and put in the hard work to make it all happen.

At the beginning of 2019 I made the commitment to make my health a priority.

I set out to honor this commitment by working out consistently, eating as clean as I possibly could, and choosing to be more active on days when I had a ton of free time. While there were a lot of ups and downs, moments of great victory, and some moments where I didn’t try my hardest, I still managed to get through the year working towards the goal of improving my health.

If I can do it, so can you.

Improving your health is a lot easier than you may think. It doesn’t require ridiculous diets that don’t’ work, spending an excess amount of time in the gym, or completely changing your lifestyle all together. All it requires is the necessary changes in the areas of your life that will have the most impact.

Here are 5 ways to improve your health for the better in 2020! [Read more…]
