How to Transform Your Mind with Mindfulness

December 7, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

The mind is such a powerful thing. You’d be surprise at how many of your thoughts get translated into actions, and how many of those actions end up having a direct impact on your life. It’s hard to think of the mind as a tool that can have such a powerful effect on so many different aspects of our life, but it does.

This is why it’s so important to be mindful of what you are feeding your mind.

You have to watch your thoughts, pay attention to the type of information you are taking in, as well as the type of information you are filtering out. Not just because your thoughts influence your actions, but also because your thoughts manifest energy into your life. You don’t want to manifest negative energy and as a result of that invite negativity into your life.

You want to manifest positive energy and invite positivity into your life. In order to do this, you have to think positively. You have to be mindful of how you exercise your brain, and what kind of information you allow your mind to consume. Only then can you truly begin to transform your mind for the better.

And you’d be surprise with how that transformation will change your life for the better.

5 Habits of Healthy Women

November 30, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

As women we all strive to be in the best shape we possibly can be. This is because we have so many different roles that we tend to take on. We’re mothers, sisters, aunts, God-mothers, workers/breadwinners, business women, and so much more. Taking on so many different roles, sometimes all at once, means that we hold ourselves to a lot of responsibilities throughout the day.

While we may make it look easy, the reality is that it’s not always easy. We have mastered juggling a ton of roles and responsibilities in various situations and on various occasions. While this is great and amazing and I believe showcases the true strength of women, it does tend to have one downfall to it.

We are always so focused on making sure that everyone we love and care about are well taken care of that we tend to forget about ourselves. We put our health, our happiness, our wants, and our needs on hold because it fulfills us so much more to care for others first.

This is one area that most of us as women are still struggling to master.

I believe this is because we tend to fail to acknowledge just how much energy, time, and commitment is required in order to not only care for multiple individuals, but ourselves as well. This causes us to prioritize the health, happiness, and sanity of others over ourselves, and by time we finally get around to checking in with us, we’ve already crashed into a wall mentally, emotionally, and physically.

So how do we avoid this? How do we still allow ourselves to be everything that our loved ones need us to be, while also showing up for ourselves just as equally? Truth be told it’s a lot harder than it may seem but there is a secret formula to doing it all.

Read on to learn about 5 of the best habits healthy women have that you need to pick up today in order to continue to be super in everything that you do. [Read more…]

The Best Tips for Recovering After Thanksgiving Day

November 23, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Thanksgiving is right around round the corner and that means it’s time to indulge in all the goodness that comes with it. I’m talking food, good drinks, as well as relaxing and socializing with family and friends. This is one of the few times during the year when it’s great to let your hair down and just focus on being in the present moment.

Focus on your company and unapologetically take a day off from work and all your other responsibilities. You may spend the day cooking, cleaning, or even preparing for a party, but what you are not doing (most of us anyways) is spending 8+ hours on the phone or staring a computer screen getting work done. Thanksgiving may not be my favorite holiday, but I do look forward to it. It’s the one time during the year when I can really just relax and not do anything productive for the day, and I’m sure most of you may feel the same way!

Being present in the moment requires you to focus on everything that is happening right in front of you and nothing else outside of that moment. This is why a lot of hard workers look forward to this special day. Which is ok, but once Thanksgiving Day has come and gone it’s back to your daily routine. This means back to work (however that may look for you), back to school, back to waking up and going to be early, and back to your regular grind.

It can be exhausting to say the least. We all look forward to having that day/weekend to relax and not have to follow through on any responsibilities, but unfortunately some of us are not able to do this. We eventually have to go back to the hustle and bustle of getting things done so that we can change our lives for the better, and that usually starts the next day (or two) after Thanksgiving.

So, in today’s post I’m going to share with you some tips about how to get back into the groove of things right after Thanksgiving so that you can continue to work towards your biggest goals and dreams. [Read more…]

5 Lazy Day Activities to Keep You in Good Health

November 15, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Let’s face it we all have our lazy days. Those days when we literally don’t want to do anything productive. We don’t want to shower (admit it), clean, cook, go to work, exercise, take care of the dogs, go above and beyond for the kids, or anything that is going to require us to put in some effort to accomplish a task.

I’m talking about those days where you just want to lay in bed all day eating junk food and watching Netflix.

Sometimes those are the best days, but those are also the days when we cheat ourselves the most out of really caring for ourselves. This is because instead of doing something that will help us improve our overall health in some way, we opt for doing absolutely nothing. Which if we’re going to be honest is the true definition of what it means to be lazy.

But here’s the thing. We can have lazy days and still make a point to do something that will better our overall health. These activities don’t have to be long, over the top amazing, or even super interactive. They can be small and very simple little things that you do for no more than 10 minutes.

Sounds crazy I know but believe it or not there are so many simple things you can in 10 minutes or less to improve your health. Trust me I know because I spent years telling myself that there wasn’t. Flash forward to now and I have proven myself wrong! There is literally so many simple things you can do that don’t require a lot of effort, is low productivity, but will still help you get closer to your health and wellness goals.

Overcoming Guilt and Shame to Reach Your Goals

November 9, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Guilt and shame tend to hold us back from achieving a lot of things in our life. It can hold us back from following our dreams, seeing a major commitment to something all the way through, from remaining consistent with our self-care and wellness routine, as well as from reaching our goals.

This is because when we make ourselves feel guilty or shameful about not doing something, we are essentially making ourselves feel as though we have done something wrong.

We often times get stuck in this rumination about that guilt or shame, and for some of us it can be hard to move past those feelings immediately. So, we end up just waiting in these negative feelings for a light to shine down on us and motivate us to get back up and try again.

But does guilt and shame affect us differently? Is it possible that we can feel guilty about not staying committed to a goal, and still be able to achieve that goal in the timeframe we originally set? Is it possible to shame ourselves about not staying committed to a goal, and still have the desire to reach it?

Believe it or not guilt and shame are one in the same. They both encompass negative emotions that are directed towards the self.

The way they differ is in how we choose to let those emotions hit us. We can shame ourselves, which is actually never a good thing to do (more on that later) and still do what we know deep down inside is the right thing to do. We can also make ourselves feel guilty about something and move on just as easily.

Guilt and shame and the connection they have to reaching your goals greatly depends on the kind of relationship you have with these two emotions. In today’s post I’m going to share with you the differences between guilt and shame, and the direct connection they have to reaching your goals. [Read more…]
