My Goals for the New Year

…and that’s a wrap!

As we get closer and closer to moving into the new year, I’ve been taking a lot of time to think about what I want my life to look like next year, and moving forward. This year hasn’t been the best year for me. In fact, if I’m being honest it’s probably been one of the worst years of my life. I’ll spare you the details but just know that there have been a lot of downs, and very few ups, and any ups that I did experience were immediately dominated by the many downs that were destined to soon follow.

I am a believer that everything happens for a reason and when it is meant to happen. So while 2018 wasn’t a good year for me at all I’m accepting of the fact that everything that I experienced this year, was meant to happen. It was all a part of a bigger plan for me, and most importantly it is these very experiences that are going to continue to help me become the best version of myself. [Read more…]

As we get ready to enter the new year it’s important to take a moment and reflect on this past year.

What were some of your goals? Did you achieve them all, or maybe at least half? What were some things that you wanted to improve on but didn’t get the chance to? Were you at your happiest? What were some of your best moments this past year? Some of your worst? What are you looking forward to the most in the new year?

These are just a couple of things that I like to reflect on as I get ready for the new year. It gives me a fresh perspective on how I want to improve my life in the new year, and inspires me to start off the new year with the intention of achieving goals that compliment my lifestyle more. As we get ready to enter the new year I highly encourage you to begin developing a fresh perspective on what you want to improve in your life. Starting fresh is all about starting with a clean slate. New goals, a new perspective on life, and another chance to live a happier and more fulfilled life.

Health & Wellness Goals to Make For the New Year

As the new year approaches I’m sure everyone is thinking about their New Year’s resolutions. This is great actually, if you are, and if you’re not, no worries. You’ll get around to doing it eventually, right? I personally believe that it’s a great plan to start thinking about what goals you want to set and achieve in the new year. After all, in doing so setting these goals gives you something to look forward to!

All too often we may wait until the last minute to set a goal that we want to achieve. By this point we have put way too much pressure on ourselves to achieve this goal within a sometimes unrealistic amount of time. Don’t do that to yourself next year! The best way to avoid this is by planning and goal setting early! The earlier the better, and I promise you will save yourself from a big headache. Now that goal setting is out of the way let’s talk about the type of goals you should be setting for the new year.

Everybody usually makes some type of health and wellness related resolution for the new year. Some people actually commit to it and see it through, others attempt to follow through with it but ultimately let it fall through the cracks. 10 Super Simple Things to Be Thankful for This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is upon us once again. Now is the time of year when most families like to gather round the dinner table with one another and give thanks for all the things they have in their life. Big or small, it’s important to take note of all the amazing gifts that you have been given throughout this year. These gifts aren’t always materialistic, but most of them will be gifts that are hard to come by.

Gifts that only very specific people in your life will be able to give you. Either they will be altruistic or spiritualistic gifts that will move you in ways no object of desire will be able to. These types of gifts serve a very important meaning in our lives. They are the kinds of gifts that remind us of all the things that we have in life, and how these things remind us to forever be humble and kind.

Life is hard, at times very unpredictable, but always rewarding should we choose to embrace all the things that make life wonderful. Yes, we should be thankful to have for the gifts that are materialistic and help us live our lives in a very sufficient way. However, we should also be thankful for the gifts that not everybody is able to receive, or may have had at one point and time in their life and lost it for one reason or another.

We should be thankful for all that we have and have been given to make it this far in our lives, because not everybody has the same “luck”, support, will, or drive to see every hardship through. You may not be living your ideal life, or the life that you so desire (or maybe you are, and if so kudos to you!), but you are living a life that was meant specifically for you. I can hear the sleigh bells ringing now!

For some that means Santa is finally coming to town. For others that means it’s almost time for an all you can eat buffet starring all of your favorite meals. Which if we’re being honest is probably the second-best part about this holiday, right? However, for most of us health fanatics this time of year usually means that yet another holiday where our impulse control is going to be put to the ultimate test has come.

That’s right, I’m talking about staying on top of your health and wellness goals while still enjoying the holiday season. It’s so tempting to indulge in all the sweet cinnamon cookies, brownies, pastries, gingerbread man cookies, and delicious cakes you can find!
