How Practicing Mindfulness Can Improve Your Mental Health

Mindfulness.

It is such a powerful practice that we all should be implementing into our daily routines. There are so many benefits to practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness is essential for a healthy mind, body, and spirit. It can also help you effectively regulate your emotions.

Honestly, I could go on and on about how beneficial mindfulness is, the many different ways that it greatly impacts our overall health, and the extensive number of reasons why everyone should be practicing it.

But I won’t do that to you. At least not today!

Instead, I have a very special guest post today from a Celestina Oniye-Thomas, a Psychotherapist at Floating Counselling. She is very knowledgeable in many different areas of psychology and is currently focusing a lot of her attention and coaching services on helping parents maintain their overall well-being. Celestina offers real tools and strategies to empower and educate parents to deal with their past trauma, build resilience and confidence in themselves and their child.

Redefining Personal Development: Everything You Need to Know

Hey love bugs! This blog post is going to look a little different from the usual ones. As we blast off into the new year, one thing I’m choosing to make a priority is spending more time, and putting in more effort to bettering myself in any way that I am able to do. I want to be able to provide the same opportunity for you as well.

Over here on the blog we believe that personal development is extremely important. You can learn so much about yourself, your strengths, and your weaknesses. Personal development is not stagnant, it is ever changing and ever evolving. Which means that there is always room for you to grow and expand on your character.

As a Health and Wellness Coach I work with women in various areas of their personal development. The overall goal is to help women improve many different areas of their life so that they can unapologetically live their most authentic life. This is a very small part of actively working on your personal development.

I recently interviewed a personal development coach, Martin, and had the opportunity to pick his brain so that we could learn more about how he best serves others as a coach, and what it means to actively engage in personal development.

Do This Instead of Making A New Year’s Resolution

Another year has fallen upon us and that means it’s time to start thinking about how we want the year to go for us. What goals do we want to set out to achieve? Who do we want to become by the time the end of the year rolls around? Where in life would we like to be 12 months from now?

The beginning of the year is the time when we all reflect on what life has been like for us this past year, and how we want to change it for the new year. Reflection is great and a very necessary part of growth.

However, I believe we should be doing something completely different once we have officially entered the new year. Reflecting is important, it’s necessary, and but that is more of the end of the year wrap up engagement. At the start of the year, we need to have a clear vision of what our next steps are, what it is that we want, and what direction we want our lives to go.

This is what helps us navigate the year with a focused mind and strong intentions.

This year instead of making a new year’s resolution I say make strong intentions with a power word to guide you throughout the year. Intention setting is so important for getting the things you want out of life. It’s a big part of manifestation and it’s the secret to being successful. Having a power word is a great way to hold yourself accountable for what it is you have committed to achieving.

Start the year with strong intentions (or manifestations) and strong power words. On the surface this all seems very lovely and easy to do but the truth is, it’s hard work. It’s hard work that really requires a huge commitment to see it through.

7 Things to Do for the New Year

Who is ready for the new year? I know I most certainly am! This past year has been a lot to take on mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and in some cases physically. We as a nation have endured a lot, and as a result of that, a lot of individuals have been greatly impacted by everything that has happened this year.

However, the one thing I do believe wholeheartedly that this past year has not taken away from us, and cannot take away from us, is our determination to continue to see better days.

Despite the crappy year there is a lot to be grateful for. In the midst of all the chaos and uncertainty that we have all experienced, I have created a list of 7 things to do to be prepared for the new year. Why? Well because no matter how crappy a situation may currently be, there is always something positive to look forward to.

Walking into the new year I want growth and mindset to be type of energy that I bring. Which of course means that I want this for you as well!

It’s so easy to just slip into the mindset that nothing can change until the current state of our world changes, but I strongly disagree. I believe that true change starts from within. So. let’s not end this year, nor start the new year on the wrong foot. 6 Ways to Practice Mindfulness for An Improved Health

We all want the quickest and most effective tools to help us improve our health in any way possible. Of course, here on the blog, the main goal is to help you do so in a safe and realistic manner, so I’ve been hard at work discovering more ways how. These past couple of months I have been on a personal journey of discovering the many different ways that mindfulness can improve my overall health.

I’m talking seeing a significant improvement mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Both on the outside and on the inside.

For those of you who do not know, mindfulness is the practice of being aware. You learn how to be aware and accepting of all your emotions in a non-judgmental way. It does not matter the situation or moment at hand, you simply acknowledge your thoughts and emotions as they arise, accept them for what they are, and effectively process them.

Mindfulness by no means is an easy technique to practice! In order to be mindful, it takes a great amount of patience and dedication to the craft. Luckily there are many different ways that you can practice mindfulness and for many different reasons. Some practice mindfulness for their mental health, as a manifestation technique, and even as a meditation technique.
