Self-Care Habits You Need to Adopt Right Now

September 25, 2017 by Kimora Chanel

Life is full of questions, choices, decisions, accomplishments, and many, many disappointments. However, those questions, decisions, accomplishments, and many, many, disappointments all pave the way for something bigger than us. Not only for something bigger than us, but for something greater and more meaningful to us.

I watched a Goalcast video over the weekend about how sometimes letting go of the thing you want the most, could be exactly what you need to do in order to achieve what it is you really need. The video talked about the beauty of unwillingly letting go of something that could have potentially opened many doors for this individual. The beauty of doing this was that by unwillingly letting go of that opportunity opened the many, and might I say the right doors, that she needed in order to move forward in her career.

The video was of actress Lisa Kudrow giving a speech about her journey in the entertainment industry. If you are not familiar with Lisa Kudrow she played Phoebe Buffay on the hit television sitcom Friends. In the video Lisa talked about how she got an opportunity to be a part of the show Frasier, which everyone knew was going to be a big hit, and sure enough it was. However, Lisa got fired from the show and basically found herself back in every actor’s worst nightmare. Fighting day and night to break into the entertainment industry and make a living doing the one thing that breathes life into you. [Read more…]

Four Simple Ways to Make Your Life a Little Richer in Value

September 6, 2017 by Kimora Chanel

Hi guys!

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me lately. The good kind of busy though. You know, the type of busy when shit gets done. That’s the kind of busy I’ve had for the past two weeks. Usually I’d be totally exhausted and somewhat upset about it, but this time I’m not. I guess that’s because it’s all for a greater cause in my life.

Labor Day weekend came and went. I’ve never been a fan of this weekend/holiday. Don’t ask me why, I just get any kind of feeling from it. In fact, I honestly even forgot it was Labor Day weekend, and that Monday was Labor Day. Even with my mother reminding me every other day last week, it just didn’t stick.

That’s beside the point though. How was yours? What did you do? I’d love to hear about it.

Usually my family and I have a big BBQ dinner and watch movies. Not this time though. My mother went out of town with one of her friends, and I spent the weekend recovering from a tough week of life. I did do something fun for Labor Day though.

On Labor Day, my older brother and I took my nephew to the zoo! We met up with a couple of his friends from preschool, and they all had a blast. However, supervising four toddlers in one big open setting, with the divided responsibility of watching and protecting them for four hours…I don’t know how ANYBODY does it.

Four toddler boys all running around the zoo! I could easily say it was a nightmare but it wasn’t. It was slightly hectic, but the good kind of hectic. Not the kind of hectic where you want to yell and rip your hair out, but at the same time you don’t because no one is really in any kind of danger, and you’re not on the verge of losing your mind. The kind of hectic when it’s just really loud and there’s a lot of action happening, but you know it’s ok because everyone is smiling and laughing [Read more…]

Breathe In. Breathe Out. A Peace of Mind Is a Beautiful Thing!

August 30, 2017 by Kimora Chanel

Hey guys! I have a fun breathing exercise that I want you try. I know what you’re probably thinking, “A breathing exercise? Whatever for?”

Well, because we all could use some time to really make sure that we are in balance with everything we do. That means being in balance with ourselves and our jobs, school, health, extracurricular activities, and whatever else you may have going on in your life. When we have balance in our lives across the board, we set ourselves up not only for success, but for an overall happier experience in our daily lives. When we are out of balance in one area, believe it or not but that can set the tone for how we greet each day.

It was once said to me, “how we do one thing is how we do everything.” It’s so damn good I’m going to repeat it just for you (and myself 😊)

How we do ONE thing is how we do EVERYTHING.

That means wherever we are choosing to half-ass our efforts and abilities in life, is more than likely going to reflect in other areas in our lives. The areas we choose to give it our all, will show greatly in all areas of our life. So balance is very important! Not only for consistency, but also for your own personal commitment to make the most out of your life.

So, without further a-do, here is a breathing exercise that one of our fabulous readers shared with me the other day, and I loved it so much that I wanted to share it with you all! [Read more…]

Blogilates Challenge: Part 4

March 29, 2017 by Kimora Chanel

Omg you guys!

Friday is the last day of March which also marks the last day of my goals for this month! As most of you know one of my biggest goals for this month was to participate in and complete the Blogilates 28-day rest challenge. Here’s a quick review of what the program is, how I progressed throughout the month, and my final update.

Blogilates is a health and fitness blog that focuses on health and fitness from an honest, fun, and safe perspective. The founder of Blogilates, Cassey Ho, is just the most inspirational fitness guru I have ever encountered (on the internet, I shy away from them in real life)! She has a really powerful ability to inspire and motivate people through her Pop Pilates workouts. [Read more…]

Blogilates Challenge: Part 3

March 22, 2017 by Kimora Chanel

Hi guys.

This week was a step forward for me. It wasn’t a big one as I was hoping, but at least it was a step forward. I’m learning to celebrate every little thing no matter how big or small it is. Which means I’m choosing to celebrate the little step forward on this journey that I was able to take.

I was able to commit to working out three days this week, despite feeling horrible. And let me tell you I felt horrible this week. There’s something going around and I think my body is trying to catch it. So, this past week I’ve just been feeling really disgusting, inside and out. Runny nose, upset stomach, the whole shebang. And I honestly just felt like hiding away in my room away from the whole until whatever is trying to take over my body went away.

And though I know it/s no excuse I’ve come to finally accept that it’s one of my greatest weaknesses. I don’t like to be in pain of any sort! So, when I’m in pain I literally don’t want to do anything or be bothered by anyone. I just want to lay in bed all day alone and isolated from the world, and wish the pain away. And this week that’s exactly what I did. I spent a lot of time in my bed. The three days I did work out, I had to force myself to get out of bed.

And if I’m besting honest the days I did crawl out of bed to workout, I felt awesome. Well maybe not awesome but I did feel better. So I tried to tick myself into the idea that if I continued to get up and workout I would begin to feel better. The first three days proved that to be true. But then Monday came. [Read more…]
