I can hear the sleigh bells ringing now!

For some that means Santa is finally coming to town. For others that means it’s almost time for an all you can eat buffet starring all of your favorite meals. Which if we’re being honest is probably the second-best part about this holiday, right? Thanksgiving is on the rise. With the Fall season in full swing, and my favorite holiday out of the way, it’s time to make room for the second day out of the entire year that I look to the most simply because of the food. That’s right folks, it’s time to make room for Thanksgiving!

Man, oh man I love me some Thanksgiving dinner! The mashed potatoes, cornbread (my favorite!), green beans, greens made with jalapeno peppers, mac and cheese, and of course the Turkey (Cajun flavor). My mouth is watering already.

Thanksgiving is usually the holiday where we all give ourselves a pass on eating healthy or at least being health conscious about what we are putting into our bodies. I don’t know about you, but it most certainly is the one holiday where I allow myself to slack off on working out! It’s not because I get lazy or anything like that, but mainly because I want to enjoy the holiday. Which means I want to enjoy the delicious food.

If this sounds anything like you then don’t worry. I’ve got you covered. You don’t have to let this Thanksgiving be the year that you repeat the cycle, or start to create the cycle of pressing pause on all your health and wellness goals for the rest of the year. Are you living your best life? Do you know what I mean when I ask this question? If not (to both of these questions) then listen up because this is important!

Life is so precious. We only get one life to live and in all honesty that means we have to live it to the fullest. Believe it or not, a lot of people may not necessarily know what it means to live your life to the fullest. I at one point and time in my life, and for a very long time, was one of those people.

I always thought that the best way to live your life the fullest was to always have a plan in mind. A 5-year plan that you would actively works towards, and a 10-year plan just in case you needed to think further into the future. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a 5- or 10-year plan, this method doesn’t consider the many unpredictable, and unplanned things that we can encounter in life.

So, in reality when you think about living your life to the fullest based off of a 5-or-10-year plan, even when it’s made up of goals, your greatest passions, and biggest dreams, you’re never really living it to the fullest if you’re not living authentically. [Read more…]

I Quit My Secured Life to Start Living My Dream Life

“I stopped waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel and lit that shit up myself”

I saw this quote the other day as I was scrolling through my newsfeed on Facebook. My friend had posted a beautiful photo of herself and that was what ultimately got me to stop and take it in. This quote was the caption for the picture and it complimented the picture so perfectly. Though it was a really beautiful picture it was the quote that made me linger just a little bit longer than what was probably necessary.

This quote, these words, the story being told through the picture, all of it got me to thinking about the life that I live. It got me to thinking about the life that I lived in the past, the life that I currently live, and the life I hope to be living in the future. For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to live a life where I was doing things that truly made me happy. Living life on my terms, following my own rules. This happiness wasn’t forced, it wasn’t fake, and it wasn’t inconsistent.

The spookiest time of year is upon us again and honestly, I couldn’t be any happier!

That’s right folks I’m talking about Halloween! If you love this holiday as much as I do then you can understand, and better yet relate to me when I say this is the time of year I look forward to the most. Not Christmas (that’s second), not Thanksgiving, and not even New Years. For me it’s all about Halloween!

I love seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes, some of them homemade others store brought. I enjoy all the holiday themed treats, like cookies, cakes, and rice krispies treats. All the Halloween movies really help bring the holiday to life, like Monster House, Casper, Beetlejuice, and of course The Addams Family. This is probably my favorite part about the whole holiday, the movies. I could never get enough of all the Halloween movies!!

Literally there is just too much about this holiday that makes it the best holiday of the year. From the food, to the clothes, the movies, the delicious treats, the amazing decorations, the occasional scare that makes you want to jump out of your skin, and all the super fun Halloween parties one can dream of, it’s almost impossible to not love this holiday.
