The Best Secrets to Thriving and Finding Balance When You’re Busy

We’ve all been there. In fact, I’m currently, yet again, at this place in my life right now. I’m talking about the place in our life when we are taking on too much all at once, though it may be for greater reason and purpose, but we’re not doing a fantastic job managing it all. Do not feel ashamed if you are currently at this place in your life because it’s totally normal.

Life is meant to be lived. It’s a journey that is meant to create challenges for us, create moments of despair, and most certainly create opportunities for betterment. The reality of this thing called life is that, we can’t manage it all in a calm and peaceful manner. At least not most of us anyways. I know for a fact that I cannot. So what do we do about it? Do we just accept the chaos of everyday living? Or do we find ways to thrive in the chaos of everyday living?

I’m going with option 2. Find ways to thrive in the chaos of everyday living.

Here’s why I’m selecting option 2, and why I’m highly recommending and encouraging you to do so as well. There is this belief that when someone is thriving in life it means that everything is going right. You’re do well at your job, you’re doing awesome in school. Maybe your relationship is the best it’s ever been, all your dreams are coming true. Whatever it may be the point is that there are a lot of really good and positive things happening in your life.

While this is and can be considered thriving in life, this is not the only way to thrive in life. I’m a firm believer that you can thrive even in the mist of chaos. Maybe you aren’t doing so well at your, but your personal life is the best it’s ever been. Or maybe school is challenging you in very specific and demanding ways right now, but your support team is keeping your spirits about getting through this rough patch alive. 5 Ways You Can Make Your Physical Health A Wellness Habit

Hi guys!

Man, this past week has been super busy for me! The day finally came when I got the greenlight to get my special project up and running and let me tell you…it was amazing!!! I’m talking a huge success! Very busy, a little bit of hiccups here and there, but once we got the ball rolling everything went rolling (in a good way). 2 hours and 30 minutes later day 1 of the shoot for my project was complete. Honestly, I didn’t think it would be able to pull it off, but somehow (with the help of my lovely little helpers) I was able to.

As a result of it I feel so accomplished, so happy, and so empowered. Most importantly I feel so ready to do more work like this! That’s so exciting, right!?! When people are doing the things that they love and they are finding fulfillment in doing it, even when they have their doubts about it. It’s literally the best feeling in the world simply because you proved all those doubtful thoughts you had about your ability to be able to do it wrong!

There was a lot of physical activity going on (not just with me but with my models and my helpers as well), and the heat was at an all time high (or maybe it was just me?). So, I had to make sure that I was staying on top of my physical wellness that day. I’m not just talking about being in the best shape possible to be able to actively move around and keep a good pace for the whole 2 hours and 30 minutes (because time is money). I’m also talking about making sure that my body was properly fueled from the inside out for the entire time period in order to keep a good pace going to ensure that we finished within the time frame we had scheduled. Why You Shouldn’t Neglect Your Mental Health and 3 Wellness Techniques to Fix It

Oh my gosh!!!

So much has happened this past month and is happening this month that I can’t even keep up emotionally! It feels so weird to admit that to myself (and you guys) out loud but it’s the truth. I’ve never been the type of person to handle stress and pressure from demands well, but somehow, I made it through this past month in one piece. I’m also a little nervous about this month and all the activities that I have planned but I’m sure with consistent practice of my wellness routine I will come out of this month in one piece as well.

Here’s a super quick update about everything that has happened in my life up to this very moment. I celebrated Father’s Day, 3 birthdays, and the 4th of July. I also sent out a super important email to my mother agency in search of models for a super cool project that I am working. Literally within a day of sending out that email I was getting tons of models who were interested and wanted to take part in the project.

So, I pretty much spent the rest of June, and so far, all of this month booking models, writing out detail plans for the projects, booking a location for the photoshoot, and even booking a photographer. On top of that of course I had school that I had to do every week, and this lovely blog to attend to for you all. It may not sound like a lot but take my word for it, it was completely exhausting! 50 Fun and Easy Self-Care Activities to Add to Your Wellness Routine

Hi there!

Are you feeling as if all this heat from the summer days is playing the role as a big contributor to not engage in self-care? If you are please don’t feel guilty about this because you are not alone. All the heat has been more than enough reason for me to hide away in my home I stead of being out in the sun, even if only for 15 minutes.
Not only had the heat been a big reason why I’ve been avoiding going outside lately, but it’s also been the reason I’ve been hiding away in my basement all summer. The heat can be felt literally from corner to corner, of every corner in my house, except for the basement.

You may be wondering why the basement is such a bad place to hide away. Well the answer is simple. My basement is very, very small which means that there are literally very few things that I am able to do. I can’t do yoga, I can try to meditate but because the basement is hated among 5 different people finding that peace and quiet pretty much doesn’t exist. I can’t work out because u have very little room to move, and I can’t even read a book because my basement has no windows, and the lights circuits do not work.

Are you starting to see my problem here? Well my very limited ability to consistently engage in self-care while I hide away from the sun in my basement gave reminded me of the limits that I was putting on myself. I had limited myself in being able to engage in self-care because of the simple fact that I had very little room to participate in the self-care activities that fulfill me.

Why It’s Important to Prioritize Your Self-Care

You know that feeling of complete and utterly bliss? The feeling you get when you are so relaxed and content with all that you have accomplished, big or small, and literally nothing can rain on your parade. I’m talking about that feeling where you are completely oblivious of everything else simply because you are in a state of pure happiness.

Yeah, you know the feeling I’m talking about 😊. Everyone has experienced this level of happiness at some point and time in their life, right? If not well sorry to say but you’re missing out! If so (which I think it can be safe to say yes for just about everyone), chances are if you know the feeling I’m talking about then you also agree that you never want that feeling to go away. Well you are not alone because I too never want that feeling to go away.

It’s such a privilege to experience a level of happiness such as this one. It’s a privilege because in order to truthfully experience a blissful moment means that you have allowed yourself to let go of all the negativity. You have given yourself the gift of being stress free, of not letting other peoples’ problems become your problems, and most important the gift of putting yourself first. I cannot stress enough how important it is to look after yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. In other words, if you’re not going to make a habit of putting yourself first, at least make a habit of engaging in self-care as often as you possibly can.

Self-care needs to be a priority in your life, and if it isn’t already then, it’s time to make it one. [Read more…]
