Imagine a life that looks exactly how you would picture your “perfect” life to be. Of course, perfection isn’t realistic, but I’m a believer in the idea that the closest we can ever come to perfection, is by unapologetically living the life that we want for ourselves, and by being who we are at our core, unapologetically of course.

This means that we fearlessly make ourselves a priority. We live our life doing the things that we have always wanted to do. We choose to love instead hate. We treat ourselves and others with respect and dignity, and most importantly we choose to live an honest life. Whether that’s a life that others agree with or not.

While all of this is easier said than done it’s not impossible. In fact, living that “perfect” life you have always envisioned for yourself is very much something that you are 100% capable of achieving. Does with require hard work and dedication? Of course. Is it worth it? 1000% yes.

Since it can be hard to know where to start, I’ve put together a list of 15 ways that will help you get started on the right foot. Everything listed below are things that you can start implementing into your life RIGHT NOW! It won’t require you to go out of your way and it won’t take a huge chunk of time out of your already busy day. All you have to do is make the commitment to do more of the things listed below.

Embracing Your Period

Today I have something different for you all. We don’t talk about periods on this blog, but we do talk about the many different ways we can better our overall health. Well, guess what, our periods are a part of our health. That’s why today we are going to spend some time talking about it, and learning more about it and the way it impacts our overall health. And we’re going to do this with the help of Ellie!

May I ask you a personal question? How do you feel about your PERIOD? Yes, I’m shouting the word period at you because so often we talk about periods in hushed voices and behind closed doors. But we can change that! Periods are an amazing part of our bodies and our health. Therefore, it’s time to start embracing your period!

I’m a firm believer in that idea that we never stop growing, working, or improving ourselves. No matter what goals we are working towards in our life, no matter how far we have come, and no matter how we define success, there is never an end to becoming a better version of yourself.

It can be tiring working on improving yourself day in and day out. Trust me, I know, I get it. The fact of the matter is that in order to become better we have to be willing to put in the hard work to get there. Some days will be easier than most, and some days will be harder than expected. However, it’s all a part of the process. The discipline of tirelessly working on bettering ourselves will always pay off in the end.

We just have to have the determination to make it so.

What is personal development?

To put it simply personal development is a way to assess your skills, set goals, and do everything you can under the sun to reach your full potential. It’s an uphill climb that can take years for you to achieve, and even once you’ve achieved it you never really stop reaching higher. Undergoing personal development is a lifelong process, and you will find yourself in this space of bettering yourself, many, many times throughout your life.

6 Type of Foods That Are Good for Your Health and Jump Starting A Healthier Diet

One of my health and wellness goals this year is to adopt a healthier diet.

I’ll admit I’m a junk food junkie. I love it all! The chips, the fast food (some not all), the sugary drinks (although I don’t drink a lot of it), and even the candy when I get a strong craving for it. Even though junk food was my first love, I don’t indulge in a lot of it (surprisingly). I never really have and it’s not because I don’t find it tasteful, because obviously I do, but it’s because too much of it does tend to make me sick.

Which I guess can be expected for anyone who indulges in a lot of junk food all the time. However, this year I really want to change up my eating habits.

I want to adopt a healthier diet and replace my cravings for chips of all kind and an endless supply of juice (especially orange juice), with healthier choices, like apples, carrots, and celery juice. As someone who lives in a household where junk food is always present, I knew this was going to be a challenge for me.

However, I am determined to succeed with achieving this goal.

I knew right off the back expanding my choice of foods was going to be a challenge for me. While I do love eating fruits and certain vegetables, I’m not an experimental, curious, or brave eater. I like what I like and that’s it! Which may or may not be hard when trying to adopt a healthier diet.

Thankfully, I have the perfect resources to help me get started with my new healthier diet, and actually commit to it.
