Healthy Life Habits to Replace Your Bad Life Habits

August 30, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Do you track your habits? Both the good and bad. Are you aware of the many different ways our habits may be impacting us? Not just with our goals but also through our mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health as well.

Well if you’re someone who tends to pay more attention to everything that’s going right in your life, and pay less attention to everything that is going wrong, I’ve got news for you. You’re cheating yourself out of reaching your full potential!

When we choose to only acknowledge all the good, we lose sight of all the opportunities to change the bad. When this happens, we become consumed with putting all our energy and focus into everything that is working in our favor. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, choosing to not fix what is wrong can hurt us in the long run.

The scary thing about this is that we never know when or in what way.

This way of thinking, reacting or responding, and way of living are all a part of the habits we have developed as a way to get through our days. In some cases, they can even be used as defense mechanisms. Some can be good and some can be bad. The good habits are what will help us reach our full potential. The bad habits are what will constantly hold us back.

How do we overcome our bad habits so that our good ones can prevail? By replacing the bad life ones with healthy life habits. Here’s are some common bad life habits that we all have that are holding us back in life, as well as some healthier ones we can replace them with. [Read more…]

How to Not Give Up on Reaching Your Goals

August 23, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Are you the type of person who sets a goal and then work hard towards it until you’ve achieved it? Or maybe you set a goal, works towards it, but when you don’t see the results you desire you completely abandoned ship? Or maybe you’re neither? Maybe you just sort of say out loud all the things that you want for yourself but you can’t seem to back it all up with action?

Well guys I’ve been there, done that, and I can honestly tell you that achieving a goal is not always as easy as it may seem. Yes, this will vary from goal to goal, and even from person to person. However, when it comes to our health and wellness and wanting to achieve personal and meaningful goals related to that, it’s never easy.

This is because reaching these goals will require you to undergo a transformation of some sort. This can include things such as changing your mindset about the way you approach your goals, or possibly eliminating bad habits that aren’t going to help you reach your goals. You may find that you might even have to adopt unfamiliar habits that will help you reach your goals, and even completely switch up your daily schedule and routine.

If you really want to reach a personal and meaningful health and wellness goal you are going to have to make necessary changes. There will be changes that you’re going to be reluctant to making and even adopting, but they will be necessary. Of course, these changes are going to vary from person to person and goal to goal, but no goal can be achieved doing the same thing you’re already doing.

You know this because if it could then it wouldn’t be a goal for you. It would be something you already have and are not striving to achieve. Since that is not the case this means that something has to change in order to help you get there.

All change isn’t easy and there may be times we find ourselves becoming burnout with these new changes. I want you to know that is normal when striving to achieve a goal. So, don’t freak out and don’t give up! Instead, keep these tips in mind the next time you find yourself struggling to adjust to necessary life changes to help you reach your goals. [Read more…]

What It Means to Be Body Positive

August 16, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

What does body positivity mean to you?

I hear so many different perspectives on this topic all the time. I’ve heard that to be body positive means that you accept yourself as you are and don’t go out of your way to change anything about you. I’ve also heard that to be body positive is to encourage other women to achieve a healthier health status such as to lose weight (this one I’m not so sure about). These are just a few of the things that I’ve seen online.

I’ve even heard that only women can be body positive. In other words, it’s a woman’s thing.

I’ve heard a lot of things about what it means to be body positive both in the online world and outside of it. Some of it are good perspectives that I agree with, others are what I would consider to be perspectives that are just downright ridiculous. So, I’m curious as to how you may define what it means to be body positive, and do you think this is something directed only towards women.

I believe that body positivity is not simply black and white. It’s not one specific thing minus a ton of other specific things or vice versa. Rather I believe it’s a combination of a ton of important factors minus one big major factor.

Curious to know my thoughts? Well I’m anxious to share them! Check out what I have to say down below. [Read more…]

The Importance of Self-Care and Why Everyone Should Do It

August 10, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Do you practice self-care often? Do you understand the importance of self-care?

Lately it seems like self-care is a trend that everyone is doing and encouraging others to do as a means to just be a part of something cool. While I love self-care and highly encourage everyone to practice it daily, I also understand that it’s not a trend. Self-care isn’t something that you just pick up out of the blue, stick with for a while until it’s no longer serving you, and then drop like it’s nothing.

Oh no honey. Self-care is so much more than that!

Self-care is the act of effectively taking care of your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It’s the process of doing the necessary inner work in order to allow yourself to grow into your full potential. While the majority of self-care is inner work, that’s not all that self-care is.

Self-care is also the skill to be able to reset and center yourself. It’s the ability to be able to easily call forth a skill or ability to regulate your mood and/or thoughts. Essentially self-care is the awareness you have of yourself and the ability to use that awareness in ways that can help you give yourself what it needs in order to regulate yourself.

There’s a constant debate about what self-care is and what it’s not. However, there are many different ways to engage in self-care despite what others have to say about it. The most important thing to know about self-care is that it’s a lot of work, but it’s necessary work if you want to be the best version of yourself.

I’m going to share with you some of the many reasons why practicing self-care is important, as well as some self-care activities that you can do. [Read more…]

8 Morning Habits for A Successful Day

August 2, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

What are some things you do in the morning to kickstart your day?

For the longest time I was never a morning person so naturally I never had a morning routine. My “morning routine” basically consisted of me waking up, rolling out of bed, doing necessary hygiene, and going on about my day. That’s it. Nothing less and nothing more. This was my morning routine from the day I started middle school up until the day I graduated from college (that’s normal right?).

That’s a lot of years of a very simple and not very productive morning routine at all. Looking back on it now I’m not proud of it. I can understand why my morning routine was like that, but I also wished I had people in my life at the time encouraging me to do more with my mornings.

Flash forward about a year after graduating college and all that changed. I took a huge interest in the morning routine of some people in my life that I consider to be very successful and super productive during the day. At the time that this was happening was also the time when I started to take an interest in the health and wellness lifestyle, and wanted to improve my health for the better.

Little did I know that it all started with the kind of routine for yourself that you have in place the second you wake up. I would have never thought in a million years that what I did and didn’t do in the morning would have such a huge impact of what I was and was not able to accomplish during the day. It also has a ripple effect for what you are and are not able to accomplish in your life overall.

Connecting the dots on what makes their lives so amazing (in my eyes anyway) and taking advice from these people inspired me to make necessary changes in my life. I would start with my morning routine and the way I greeted the day. The main goal in the beginning was to increase my confidence, feel amazing in my own skin, have more focus and motivation during the day, and to offset any potential health problems I could eventually be at risk for as I navigated through my adult years.

Now I just want to be my happiest and healthiest self for the rest of my life. In order to get there, I had to change the way I greeted each day. I was committed to the process and the desired results so that’s exactly what I did. I no longer followed a lazy morning routine where I covered the basics and started my day. Instead, I started to take the time to really allow myself to focus and make my intention for the day clear and specific.

What’s my secret? Well today I’m going to share with you 8 morning habits that will help you have a successful day, and accomplish everything you set out to do in life overall. [Read more…]
