How to Reduce Stress in Your Everyday Life

January 13, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Let’s face it, we all greet the day with the intention of making it a great one, but the reality is that sometimes things don’t go as we may have planned.

We may get ambushed with a bunch of responsibilities that we were not anticipating, we may find that we aren’t able to engage in activities that we may have been looking forward to, or my personal favorite, that nothing listed on the agenda gets completed for the day.

To be honest when things do not go as planned, I freak out majorly! And by freak out majorly I mean I immediately start having a panic attack and my anxiety and stress levels shoot through the roof.

As you can imagine at this point, I’m a nervous wreck. The younger me would have sworn it was the end of the world, and all my days were quickly coming to an end. The older me knows much better and has learned how to simply roll with the punches.

Since turning into a mad woman when things become out of my control has not resulted in the best results for my health and happiness, I’ve learned how to effectively lower my stress levels when things don’t go as planned. This is such an important skill to have because there really are so many negative health effects that result from stressing.

I’m talking negative health effects such as headaches that seem to never go away, high blood pressure, heart problems, unfavorable skin reactions from the output of negative energy (such as a rash or breaking out in pimples everywhere), stress can further worsen your anxiety, and can even lead to depression.

These are all things that we want to avoid for our health.

When you apply skills and methods that can effectively help you lower your stress levels, you are lowering your chances of experiencing any, plus more, of these negative health effects. And since health is wealth, and I care about your health and want to help you improve it in any way that you possibly can, I’m going to share with you my top ways to reduce stress in your everyday life. How to Create Balance for Success

January 6, 2020 by Kimora Chanel

Are you the type of person who finds that you have a million things to do in one day? Or maybe you’re the type of person who tries to juggle more than you are capable of doing? You know, the kind of person who puts more on their plate than they can handle.

If so no worries my dear friend because I too am just like you.

One thing that I do consistently every week is make a schedule of all the things that need to get done for the week. I even go as far as to write down specific tasks to complete on specific days of the week. While all of this may sound like it helps me stay organized and on top of things, the truth is that sometimes it drives me crazy.

I always find that I have a lot of tasks to complete in the week, and I try to complete as many in a day so that I don’t have as much throughout the week. The result? I’m always stressed, overwhelmed, exhausted, and super unmotivated to do anything.

The solution? Creating a balance.

Something that I’m striving for in the new year is success all around. In other words, I want to be intentional with everything that I do, and give 110% to everything that I set my mind to. I know in order for me to achieve this goal I need to ensure that I am balancing everything in my life to the best of my ability.

It’s important to create balance in your life because it allows for other things in your life to take up space. This can be things such as engaging in more self-care, exercising more, getting out and doing things, spending more time with your family, and even participating in hobbies that you don’t get to do as often as you would like to.

That’s why I’m going to share with you my top ways on how to create balance for success in the new year! [Read more…]

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to make your health a priority. Think about your current health status now, think about past habits that have you gotten here, and think about the type of health status you’d like to have in the future. What does all these habits, desires, and disciplines tell you about your health?

If you want to be more active, more energized, see an increase in your confidence, and live an overall healthier lifestyle, then you need to make your health a priority in your life. All of these things are 1000% possible for you to achieve. All you have to do is be willing to make the commitment to better your health, and put in the hard work to make it all happen.

At the beginning of 2019 I made the commitment to make my health a priority.

I set out to honor this commitment by working out consistently, eating as clean as I possibly could, and choosing to be more active on days when I had a ton of free time. While there were a lot of ups and downs, moments of great victory, and some moments where I didn’t try my hardest, I still managed to get through the year working towards the goal of improving my health.

If I can do it, so can you.

Improving your health is a lot easier than you may think. It doesn’t require ridiculous diets that don’t’ work, spending an excess amount of time in the gym, or completely changing your lifestyle all together. All it requires is the necessary changes in the areas of your life that will have the most impact.

Here are 5 ways to improve your health for the better in 2020! [Read more…]

5 Easy Ways to Practice Wellness

December 24, 2019 by Kimora Chanel

Wellness is so important for our health and wellness journey. Not only does it help us become disciplined in the habit of practicing self-care, but it also holds us accountable for being as healthy as we possibly can be. This isn’t just in regards to our physical health, but our mental and emotional health as well.

Practicing wellness isn’t something that happens overnight. It requires discipline and the habit of doing so consistently. For years engaging in wellness activities was something that I neglected to do. I always blamed it on being too tired because of school, or even tricking myself into believing that everything was ok with my health, even though I knew it actually wasn’t.

Looking back on this now I know it was mainly because I was so lazy. While going to school full-time, engaging in social activities that were important to me, caring for the kids and my family, as well as believing that I was somewhat healthier than most, were valid factors to consider, they weren’t the honest answer behind my reasoning for neglecting a consistent wellness practice. It was because I was lazy.

Plain and simple.

We all get in those moods or have those days when we do a lot, and once everything is said and done, we don’t want to do anything more. Or if you’re anything like me, once you’ve made plans for the day you do everything you can to stick to the schedule, and once it’s complete it’s a wrap for the day. You have no intention of doing anything more even if it’s something good for your health.

This my friend is what I have come to learn as the standard definition of laziness, and I’ve been a victim of it for most of my life.

This year I really focused on changing this. I wanted to shed the lazy mindset, skills, and abilities that were so deeply embedded in my bones, and start making wellness practices an essential and necessary part of my daily life. While it was a challenge and there were many moments when I found myself not committing to this goal, I can honestly say that having specific wellness practices that I do daily is something good that was able to come out of this year for me in regards to improving my health.

Having specific wellness practices to help you rejuvenate is so important for your health. So today I am going to share with you 5 easy ways you can practice wellness. [Read more…]

Wellness Practices That Will Significantly Increase Your Happiness

December 16, 2019 by Kimora Chanel

What do you think the secret to happiness is? Is it the type of people you have in your life such as your friends and family? Is it the type of activities that you engage in such as going to see all the new movies when they come out, or family game night on the weekends? Or maybe it’s the kind of career you pursue, such as something you are genuinely passionate about versus something that just supports the lifestyle you live?

What if the secret to happiness is all of these or none of these at the same time?

While I don’t know what the secret to happiness is something that I do know can increase your happiness significantly is the way you care and nurture your life. I’m talking about the kind of energy you put out in the world, the kind of energy you allow in your life, and even the way you love and treat yourself. All of this is a part of wellness, or in a more familiar sense what most people will refer to as self-care.

Before adopting specific wellness practices to significantly increase the happiness that I felt in my life, I always thought that what made you happy in life was simply the way you chose to live your life. Much like what was stated above, I thought happiness came down to the people who were a part of your life, the kind of career you pursued, the kind of activities that you engaged in, and the things that made your life what it is.

Man was I wrong.

While all of these things do contribute to your personal level of happiness, they don’t essentially make you happy or unhappy. They’re just factors that play a part in that happiness or unhappiness. I spent years struggling to find that one thing that can always keep me in good spirits. Once I found it, it became the one thing that I value more than anything in this world. [Read more…]
